On leaving our hotel, Olympiapark stretches out before you. Attend a concert in the Olympiahalle or in the stadium. And explore the Olympic sites of 1972. This historic compound is a great place for a picnic. Or take in Sea Life. It is lots of fun - not only for children. It is also just a few minutes from the hotel to, for example, the Allianz Arena, the home grounds of the Bundesliga football club FC Bayern and second league club TSV 1860 München. You can reach the city centre just as quickly.
In the city centre, the popular pedestrian zone awaits you. As well as some famous sights such as the Frauenkirche cathedral and the Haus der Kunst art museum. The impressive Deutsches Museum (German museum) or the Pinakothek gallery of modern art. Leopoldstrasse, in the district of Schwabing, and Maximilianstrasse in the city centre are ideal shopping streets. Moreover, Munich offers more than 40 museums and 70 galleries.
The Bavarian capital is considered a ‘green city' through and through: both the Englischer Garten park and the Isar floodplains are ideal for an excursion. The grounds of Nymphenburg Palace are also a lovely place for a walk. And afterwards you can call in at one of the many beer gardens. The list of parks and green areas is nearly unending and makes a "trip into the countryside" outside the city almost unnecessary - if only it wasn't even more beautiful and green.
